Since choosing a counselor or coach can be challenging, let me tell you what
you can expect at my practice. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker
with experience in individual, family, and couples counseling as well as personal and career coaching. Typical counseling
issues include depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem,
anxiety, stress, grief and loss, and divorce adjustment. Coaching sessions may be aimed at weight and fitness, career path, assertiveness, or other personal goal. On your first
visit we will assess your concerns and discuss what you'd like to achieve. We'll set some goals to track your progress. If
you agree, we may invite family or friends to a session. For children
and teens, we may incorporate music, art, and games.
I like to stay abreast of the latest research and therapeutic
approaches and use what has been shown to work. This includes
cognitive-behavioral, narrative, mindfulness, positive psychology and other techniques.
Furthering my interest in helping to improve relationships, I am
currently becoming certified in the Gottman approach to couples
counseling. Prior to my second career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I worked in medical sales and marketing for over 10 years for a multinational Fortune 500 company. I have won many sales awards as well as obtained various additional credentials such as Parent Coordinator and Family Mediator in the state of Florida, certification in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, and am currently pursuing certification in the Gottman Method of couples counseling. I embrace diversity and welcome clients of all faiths, cultures, and sexual orientation.
While I share my office with Ms. Fencer, I work alone in a peaceful private setting on the second floor of a
professional building with a large window overlooking a beautiful tree.
The office is located across Beach Blvd. from Kuhn Flowers in the
Midtown Centre. I look forward to meeting you and helping you address
your concerns.
